The PBYG10Y Can Also Serve as a Flyback Diode in Various Electronics Subsystems
ProTek Devices has introduced a glass passivated rectifier diode to convert alternating electrical current (AC) to direct current (DC) in power supplies. The new device can also be used as a freewheeling diode / flyback diode in consumer electronic, automotive and telecommunications systems.

ProTek Devices' PBYG10Y rectifier diode offers low power loss and a low forward voltage drop. It is RoHS and REACH compliant. Operating and storage temperature are rated at -55 to 150 degrees Celsius. Peak forward surge current, at 8.3ms single half-sine wave superimposed on rated load, is 50 amps. The typical thermal resistance - lead - for the PBYG10Y is 40 degrees Celsius while the typical thermal resistance - ambient - is 80 degrees Celsius.

Mechanical, Packaging and Availability Information
ProTek Devices' PBYG10Y rectifier diode is now available in a molded JEDEC DO-214AC package with an approximate weight of just 0.06 grams. Other key mechanical characteristics include lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature (pure-tin - Sn, 100) of 260-270 degrees Celsius. The new TVS array also have a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. This new device comes packaged on 12mm tape and reel per EIA standard 481 in quantities starting at 5,000.
