The 8.0SMDJ Series is Suited for Circuit Protection in TTL and MOS Bus Line Applications Like Communications and Control Equipment
ProTek Devices has unveiled a series of multi-line transient voltage suppressor arrays (TVS arrays) that deliver board-level circuit protection in TTL and MOS bus line applications like control equipment, communications equipment, and power supplies. This includes guarding against electrostatic discharges and tertiary lightning and switching transients.
The 8.0SMDJ series is a glass passivated chip delivering 8,000 watts of peak pulse power per line (typical = 10/1000 microseconds) and low leakage current less than five microampere (minimum VBR greater than 22V). The series is available for unidirectional and bidirectional configurations and are available in multiple voltages, ranging between 12.0 and 90.0 volts.
The series also boasts an excellent clamping capability, a very fast response time, and low incremental surge resistance. The devices are also RoHS (exemption 7a) and halogen-free compliant. In addition, the series meets IEC compatibility with standards 61000-4-2 (ESD): plus or minus 30kV air, plus or minus 30kV contact; with 61000-4-4 (EFT); and with 61000-4-5 (surge).
Mechanical Characteristics
The 8.0SMDJ series is provided in a low-profile molded JEDEC DO-214AB package. It has lead-free matte-tin plating. The solder reflow temperature is 260 degrees Celsius, maximum of less than or equaling 10 seconds. It has a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The terminal is solderable, per standard MIL-STD-750, method 2026. The series is offered on 16mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481 in quantities from 3,000
