TVS Hybrid Array for High-Speed Data Line Circuit Protection
PTA03-3.3ULC Press Release
The PTA03-3.3ULC Suits Applications Like Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base T, xDSL Interfaces, Set Top Box Interfaces, T1/E1 Line Cards, and ISDN U- / ISDN S/T Interfaces
ProTek Devices has introduced a new transient voltage suppressor hybrid array for circuit protection in high-speed data line applications like Ethernet, set top box interfaces, xDSL interfaces, T1/E1 line cards, and ISDN interfaces. This includes guarding against the damaging effects of electrostatic discharges (ESD), electrical fast transients (EFT), and secondary transient threats.

The PTA03-3.3ULC high power, low capacitance (max 2.4pF [I/O to I/O]) TVS hybrid array has a peak pulse power rating of 2,000 watts (8/20 microseconds waveshape). It is designed to provide low capacitance, even at higher temperatures (TJ = 75 degrees Celsius), when connected in differential mode. In addition, it features a telecom/diode bridge configuration option and provides 100A (2/10 microseconds), per Bellcore GR1089 (intra-building).
ESD protection is greater than 30kV, contact, per IEC standard 61000-4-2, air plus or minus 15kV, contact plus or minus 8kV. This TVS hybrid array is also compatible with IEC standards 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A – 5/50ns and with 61000-4-5 (surge): 70A, 8/20 microseconds. It is also RoHS and REACH compliant.
Mechanical Characteristics
The PTA03-3.3ULC is provided in a low-profile molded JEDEC SO-8 package with an approximate weight of only 70 milligrams. It has lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed). The solder reflow temperature is 260-270 degrees Celsius, pure-tin – Sn, 100. It has a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The TVS hybrid array is offered on 12mm tape and reel, per EIA standard 481, in quantities from 1,000.
